Our selections include personal ‘reserves’ the very best of our own estates and of others that meet our rigorous taste and quality standards. These standards are guided by our commitment to source our teas from estates where responsible cultivation methods are combined with high standards of social and economic welfare for tea pluckers and their families.
Several of our estates are HACCP and SQF 2000 certified by the Societe Generale de Surveillance. HACCP or Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points is designed to minimize the risk of microbiological, chemical and other food safety hazards. SQF 2000 or Safe Quality Food is the management system which implements HACCP. We also carry estates that are certified as organic by the Institute for Market ecology, (IMO) Switzerland.
As a tea grower one enjoys certain advantages. We produce and directly source our select tea offerings. We are thus able to deliver the freshest teas in the shortest time at the most attractive prices.
Our family has devoted a hundred years to producing exclusive teas for some of the most discerning tea buyers in the world. The art of tea production, selection, blending and tasting can only be acquired through decades of experience.
Tea Estate Tours
Our tours combine an introduction to different tea regions and estates of India, with guided tour of local attractions. We take small groups not exceeding 14 people on two week tours. These are usually organised around mid-November. Our charges include airfare, ground transport, informed guides and food and lodging at the different tea estates. The tours require an advance booking of three months.
